2024 Kia EV9: Release Price and Specifications

The EV9, Kia's first all-electric SUV with three rows, has been released in Australian dealerships. This vehicle, part of Kia's electric lineup, introduces a new SUV model in the market.

The EV9 is available in three variants: Air, Earth, and GT-Line. The Air variant is equipped with a Rear-Wheel Drive Single Motor powertrain, while the Earth and GT-Line versions feature an All-Wheel Drive Dual Motor powertrain and a larger battery.

The EV9 Air offers 160kW power and 350Nm torque, with a 443km range based on the WLTP standard.

The AWD Dual Motor variants in the Earth and GT-Line models generate 283kW and 700Nm, with a range of up to 512km, and can reach 100km/h in 5.3 seconds in the GT-Line configuration.

The vehicle supports multi-charging with 800V architecture, allowing a rapid charging feature that can add 232km of range in about 15 minutes.

A full charge from 10 to 80 percent can be completed in roughly 20 minutes.

According to Kia Australia’s CEO, Damien Meredith, the EV9 is an important model for the company's electric vehicle range. He notes that the EV9, being the first all-electric Upper Large SUV in Australia, offers large families an electric vehicle option with a range of technologies and a battery range suitable for various driving conditions.

The EV9's interior and exterior designs are based on Kia's Opposites United design philosophy. The vehicle features a digital interface, including a panoramic wide display, a column-type E-Shift-by-Wire drive selector, and fingerprint recognition.

The GT-Line variant additionally includes Digital Side Mirrors and a Digital Centre Mirror.

The EV9 uses materials intended to align with sustainable practices, including the use of recycled and natural materials in its construction.

It offers different electric powertrain configurations, with the rear-wheel drive version having a 76.1kWh battery and the all-wheel drive version a 99.8kWh battery.

Kia has tested and tuned the EV9 to adapt to Australian driving conditions. The vehicle has been equipped with specific suspension and steering systems for this purpose.

As Kia's new flagship model in Australia, the EV9 introduces several technological features not previously available in Kia's Australian lineup. These include Kia's latest infotainment system, Kia Connect, with over-the-air update capability.

The EV9 is equipped with various driver assistance technologies, aiming to enhance driving safety. These include Highway Driving Assist 2 and Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist 2, among others.

The EV9 is offered at different price points depending on the model: $97,000 for the EV9 Air, $106,500 for the EV9 Earth, and $121,000 for the EV9 GT-Line.
