2024 Subaru Solterra Price and Specs: Subaru's First Electric Car Ready for Sale in Australia

Subaru Australia has detailed the specifications for its new all-electric SUV, the Subaru Solterra, marking the company's debut in the electric vehicle segment. The model is available in two versions: AWD and AWD Touring, built on the e-Subaru Global Platform, integrating electric vehicle technology with Subaru's design philosophy.

The base price for the Solterra is $77,990. Standard offerings include a five-year service plan, roadside assistance, a carpet mat set, a cargo tray, and a 2kW AC charging cable with a 10 Amp wall plug. The SUV is powered by a 71.4kW lithium-ion battery, with an output of 160kW and 337Nm of torque. Its range, based on the NEDC test, is estimated at 485km.

Charging options for the Solterra include both AC and DC capabilities. A 150kW DC charger can recharge the battery from 0 to 80% in approximately 30 minutes. AC charging times vary: a 7kW single-phase charger takes about 9.5 hours, and an 11kW three-phase charger takes approximately 6.5 hours for a full charge.

The vehicle offers 212mm ground clearance and is equipped with Dual Mode X-Mode with Symmetrical AWD, intended for various road conditions. It also features a Grip Control function for challenging driving scenarios.

The Solterra's technology features include a 12.3-inch touchscreen and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity.

The AWD Touring variant adds a panoramic glass sunroof to its features.

Subaru Australia's Managing Director, Blair Read, discussed the introduction of the Solterra into the company's model range, highlighting the SUV's integration of electric motors with Subaru's AWD system.

The Solterra is now available for booking test drives and pre-orders through Subaru's website and authorised dealers. The SUV is offered in several colour options, with exclusive two-tone choices available for the AWD Touring variant at an additional cost. The AWD Touring model also includes enhanced technology and interior features.

Subaru's warranty for the Solterra includes an 8-year/160,000-kilometre warranty for high-voltage batteries. Customers can also purchase charging bundles and Subaru-specific accessories for the Solterra.
