The 2025 Volkswagen Golf GTI Clubsport has been introduced as the latest iteration of the model, coinciding with the 50th anniversary of the Volkswagen Golf.
This new version has been updated with several modifications to its design and mechanics, but it has not been confirmed for release in Australia.
The exterior of the Clubsport features a redesigned front bumper without fog lights, incorporating larger air intakes and an illuminated grille badge.
It also includes lower door decals and a modified rear spoiler.
The vehicle offers two wheel options: the standard 19-inch Queenstown wheels and the optional 19-inch Warmenau forged wheels, which are lighter.
Internally, the layout mirrors the standard GTI, including a new steering wheel and infotainment system.
The Clubsport edition introduces a 'Special' drive mode designed to optimise the car's suspension settings for tracks like the Nurburgring.
The performance of the Clubsport is enhanced by an increase in power from the turbocharged 2.0-litre engine, now delivering 221kW, up from the previous 195kW.
It maintains a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and includes an electronically controlled front differential lock.
The acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h is timed at 5.6 seconds, consistent with previous Clubsport models.
The top speed is 250 km/h, which can be extended to 267 km/h with the optional Race package.
As of now, there is no confirmation regarding the availability of the Volkswagen Golf GTI Clubsport in Australia.
The wider updated Golf range is expected to be launched in Australia in early 2025.
