Alfa Romeo Launches Tonale Plug-In Hybrid Q4 with 60km Electric Range and 208kW Power Output

Alfa Romeo introduces the Tonale Plug-In Hybrid Q4, an addition to the Tonale line-up. This model is reported to have an all-electric range of approximately 60km and CO2 emissions of 34g/km, marking it as the most efficient Alfa Romeo to date.

The Tonale Plug-In Hybrid Q4 is designed to cater to customers seeking a combination of technology, comfort, safety, and performance in a vehicle. It can achieve an acceleration from 0 to 100km/h in 6.2 seconds.

The vehicle comes with a 208kW power output, placing it within the competitive range of the electrified C-SUV premium market in terms of performance and range. The powertrain is designed to support Alfa Romeo's traditional drive modes: Advanced Efficiency, Natural, Dynamic, and ESC OFF, and features a regenerative braking system.

The hybrid system of the Tonale Plug-In Hybrid Q4 is comprised of a 132kW, 1.3L turbocharged MultiAir, 4-cylinder engine and an electric motor providing 90kW of max peak power and 250Nm of torque. The combustion engine powers the front axle, while the electric motor powers the rear axle.

Charging the 306-volt, 15.5kWh lithium-ion battery to full capacity takes under 2.5 hours with the 7.4kW onboard AC charger and Type 2 Smart Charging Port. The battery provides an electric range of 60km.

Produced at the Giambattista Vico plant in Pomigliano d’Arco, Italy, the Tonale Plug-In Hybrid Q4 features the Q4 all-wheel-drive system, with the combustion engine powering the front wheels and the electric motor powering the rear wheels.

The model is available in Alfa White, Alfa Red, Alfa Black, Vesuvio Grey Metallic, Misano Blue Metallic, and Montreal Green. The Veloce trim includes various features such as Autonomous Driving features, 8-Way Electric Driver & Passenger Seat Adjustment with Driver Memory, a 10.25-Inch Touchscreen Infotainment and Navigation System, and more.

The starting price for the Alfa Romeo Tonale Plug-In Hybrid Q4 is $77,500, excluding all on-road costs and dealer delivery. Additional options include a 20-Inch Grey Finish Alloy Wheel for $1,500, Premium Paint for $1,600, and Special Premium Paint for $2,500.
