Lamborghini has announced the upcoming release of its latest hybrid super sports car, the LB744. The car will feature a new architecture with a powertrain that combines a 6.5-liter V12 internal combustion engine with three electric motors, delivering a combined power output of over 1000 CV.
The LB744 also includes an all-new eight-speed double clutch rear transverse gearbox and a four-wheel drive system that can operate in full-electric mode. This system reduces overall CO2 emissions by 30% compared to the Aventador Ultimae.
The LB744 is the first High Performance Electrified Vehicle (HPEV) from Lamborghini and is equipped with a lightweight high-power lithium-ion battery housed within the transmission tunnel. This innovative solution is designed to reduce emissions compared to previous models while maximizing performance.
The LB744's V12 engine is the lightest and most powerful 12-cylinder engine ever made by Lamborghini, producing 825 CV at 9250 revs per minute. The car retains Lamborghini's tradition of four-wheel drive, with a pair of electric motors now debuting on the front axle, and a third electric motor positioned above the eight-speed double-clutch gearbox that can supply power to the rear wheels.
The LB744 is equipped with a regenerative braking system and can operate in purely electric mode, providing zero-emissions performance. The car is set to make its debut in the year of Lamborghini's 60th anniversary.
