The 2024 Ford Ranger Black Edition will be available in Australian showrooms by the end of September 2024.
This model is based on the Ranger XL and includes a dual-cab pick-up body, a 2.0-litre bi-turbo diesel engine, and four-wheel drive.
Ford plans to release 1500 units for the Australian market.
Priced from $56,680 plus on-road costs, the Black Edition is $2300 more than the standard XL model and $950 less than the XLS bi-turbo variant.
The Black Edition with Arctic White paint is offered at $57,990 drive-away, with estimated savings between $1837 and $4292 depending on registration location.
The Black Edition includes 17-inch Asphalt Black alloy wheels, all-terrain tyres, black side steps, an Asphalt Black mesh front grille with Boulder Grey insets, a black sports bar, and a drop-in tub liner with a 12-volt socket and cargo management system.
Optional extras include a $1900 Towing Pack, a $3000 manual roller shutter for the tub, $700 prestige paint, and an option to delete the auto engine stop-start system at no extra cost.
Standard features carried over from the Ranger XL include halogen headlights, a 10.1-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, cloth seats, single-zone climate control, a locking rear differential, rear parking sensors, and a rear-view camera.
Production of the 2024 Ford Ranger Black Edition is currently underway, with Australian showroom arrivals expected by late September.
Ford has offered similar special editions in the past but has not used the Black Edition badge for the Ranger in Australia before.
These special editions are often introduced to maintain interest in models as they age.
However, the latest Ford Ranger has been on the market for only two years and was Australia's top-selling new vehicle last year.
