2025 Cupra Tavascan Electric SUV Undercuts with Pricing

2025 Cupra Tavascan Electric SUV Undercuts with Pricing

Pricing for the 2025 Cupra Tavascan has been revealed, with the sporty electric SUV to go on sale in April from $60,990 before on-road costs.

While Australian specifications have yet to be locked in by Cupra, it’s expected the starting price will apply to the Tavascan Endurance – powered by a single 210kW electric motor powering the rear wheels.

Fed by a 77kWh battery, Cupra claims the Tavascan Endurance can drive up to 534 kilometres on a single charge in overseas markets.

Pricing hasn’t been announced yet for the dual-motor Tavascan VZ, which offers a combined 250kW for a claimed 0-100km/h time of 5.5 seconds.

Driving range for the Tavascan VZ is up to 499 kilometres using the same 77kWh battery, with the family SUV based on Volkswagen Group’s MEB electric-vehicle platform.

While Cupra initially indicated the Tavascan would be in the “sub $70,000” price range, the model is only $1000 more than the smaller Cupra Born electric hatch – and undercuts the compact Formentor SUV plug-in hybrid (ignoring temporary run-out pricing).

The Cupra Tavascan is the latest in a strong push by Volkswagen Group brands in Australia – which include Volkswagen and Skoda – to offer local buyers a choice of competitive petrol, plug-in hybrid, and electric models.

At $60,990 before on-road costs, the Cupra Tavascan undercuts the best-selling Tesla Model Y by more than $2400 – while offering a larger battery and better driving range.
