The all-new 2025 Skoda Kodiaq has been detailed for Australia, with the large SUV to be priced from $54,990 before on-road costs.
While the seven-seater Kodiaq may be hard to differentiate from the model it replaces, Skoda assures us this is a brand-new, second-generation model – with buyers initially offered the choice of three variants, including a limited Launch Edition.
A performance-oriented Kodiaq RS is due to be added to the line-up in September 2025.

Headlining the new Kodiaq’s arrival is both cabin space and the introduction of Smart Dials.
Skoda says the Kodiaq offers 289 litres of luggage space with all three rows of seats in place, which increases to 794 litres with the third row folded down, and goes up to 2035 litres of storage with both second and third rows stowed – beating out the Mazda CX-80, Toyota Kluger, Kia Sorento, and Hyundai Santa Fe by some margin.
Skoda’s Smart Dials are three rotating dials on the lower part of the dashboard, with the outer selectors controlling climate control, seat heating, and seat ventilation for each front occupant – with the functions able to be scrolled through by pressing the face of the dial.

Meanwhile, the centre dial can be configured to allow quick access to four different functions from a menu of six, including fan speed, ventilation, Smart Climate, driving profile, audio volume, and map zoom.
Kicking off the range is the Kodiaq Select, which comes standard with black leather, a power driver’s seat, heated front seats, keyless entry and start, two wireless charging pads, tri-zone climate control, ambient lighting, a power tailgate, a 10-inch digital instrument cluster, and a 13-inch infotainment screen with DAB+ digital radio, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and all mated to a nine-speaker sound system.
With $4000 of additional value, the Kodiaq Sportline is priced from $58,990 before on-road costs and adds matrix LED headlights with cornering, animated rear indicators, black exterior accents, sports seats, a heated steering wheel, synthetic suede interior trim, a premium sound system, and 20-inch alloy wheels.

Skoda has also introduced the Launch Edition from $63,490, and adds (over Select) power front seats with massage function, Dynamic Chassis Control, Intelligent Park Assist, 360-degree cameras, matrix LED headlights with cornering, illuminated front grille, animated rear indicators, hands-free power tailgate, Canton premium sound system, head-up display, a heated steering wheel, heated rear (outboard) seats, progressive steering, descent control, and a panoramic glass sunroof.
While black leather is available, the Launch Edition is also available with a premium Cognac leather interior with saddle stitching on the dashboard.
Standard safety equipment includes radar cruise control with stop & go, Travel Assist, lane-keep assist, front brake assist with pedestrian and cyclist recognition, blind-spot assist, rear cross-traffic alert, emergency assist, exit warning system, turn assist, driver fatigue detection, traffic sign recognition, rear-view camera, traffic jam assist, front and rear parking sensors, multi-collision brake, tyre-pressure monitoring, and nine airbags.

All models are powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine sending 140kW and 320Nm to all four wheels through a seven-speed automatic transmission.
Along with interior, exterior, and suspension updates, the forthcoming Kodiaq RS will be powered by a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine tuned to output 195kW and 400Nm – dropping the 0-100km/h time from 8.2 to 6.4 seconds.
As reported by CarSauce, Skoda has confirmed a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) model was currently undergoing testing for the Australian market, and could be added at a later date.

As with all Skoda models sold in Australia, the Kodiaq comes with a seven-year/unlimited-kilometre warranty and the option for pre-paid servicing for up to seven years.
