Australia’s Nissan Navara Pro-4X Warrior Goes Global

Australia’s Nissan Navara Pro-4X Warrior Goes Global

The Nissan Navara Pro-4X Warrior is set to be launched in South Africa later this month, further showcasing Australia’s engineering talents to the world.

Australian engineering firm Premcar created the Navara Pro-4X Warrior in collaboration with Nissan, upgrading the ute to be off-road-ready straight from the dealership.

However, while the concept remains the same, South Africa is getting its Warrior tweaked to suit its market – with a special front-end design, Maxxis Razr all-terrain tyres, and suspension tuned for local conditions.

Premcar has opened a factory in South Africa in partnership with local firm AIH, where it will conduct the remanufacturing process to create the Warriors.

“While the vehicles will of course be slightly different, the end result will be the same; a ute that feels perfectly suited to South African conditions, and one that broadens capability without ever sacrificing comfort,” said Premcar CEO Bernie Quinn.

“This isn’t just important for us, but for the Australian automotive manufacturing industry across the board.”

Almost a year ago, Premcar celebrated its 10,000th Warrior – with the nameplate being shared across the Navara SL Warrior, the Pro-4X Warrior, and the upgraded Patrol Warrior.

“We’ve known that Australia is home to some of the brightest automotive minds on the planet, and we can’t wait to show the world what we can do,” Mr Quinn added.

“There are a lot of links between South Africa and Australia, from sport to recreation and especially the outdoors,” said Nissan Africa boss Jordi Vila.

“The Navara that has been designed for Africa and assembled in South Africa since 2021 outside Pretoria, is a wonderful platform for the introduction of the Warrior by Australia’s Premcar.”
