Deal Alert! Free Home EV Charger with Volkswagen ID.4 and ID.5

Volkswagen Australia has announced a limited deal, offering a free electric-car charger – and installation – with the purchase of the electric ID.4 Pro or ID.5 GTX.

Limited to the first 500 customers, Volkswagen will organise the installation of a 7kW home electric-car charger for those who order a brand-new ID.4 Pro – the company’s first electric vehicle locally – or the sportier ID.5 GTX.

According to Volkswagen, the charger and installation offer $1899 of extra value.

Announced earlier this month, the ID.4 Pro – with 544 kilometres of driving range (WLTP) – is priced from $59,990 before on-road costs.

At $72,990 before on-road costs, the more powerful ID.5 GTX has a slightly larger coupe-style body, and provides up to 522km of range on a single charge (WLTP) – along with a significant performance advantage.

Whereas the ID.4 Pro has a single electric motor sending 210kW and 545Nm to the rear wheels, the all-wheel-drive ID.5 GTX has dual electric motors for a combined output of 250kW and 679Nm.

The result is a 0-100km/h sprint time of 6.7 and 5.4 seconds, respectively.

With the free home EV charger offer limited to the first 500 buyers, Volkswagen said there are no current plans to extend this deal once sold out.
