An Australian company has announced it will begin selling imported wheelchair-accessible London taxis to individuals, families, and organisations in need.
For those requiring disability transportation, Eveen.au is offering its fleet of 2016-2017 LTI London Cab TX4s for a flat price of $35,000 plus on-road costs.
The company is the same that brought in a fleet of BYD E6 electric vehicles for the Sydney taxi market, before the vehicles were offered to the public – also for $35,000 – making them the cheapest electric cars on sale at the time.

A spokesperson for Eveen.au told CarSauce the London Cabs were acquired just prior to the Covid-19 pandemic, and have been stored locally for much of that time – however, the spokesperson says they are “extremely well maintained and are in excellent condition”.
The black cabs were specially designed for taxi duties, and feature a Euro 5-compliant 2.5-litre turbo-diesel four-cylinder engine making 75kW and 240Nm, driving the rear wheels through a five-speed automatic transmission.
As required by law to manoeuvre through London’s narrow streets, the vehicles have a turning circle of 8.535 metres. For context, a 2025 Toyota Camry Hybrid has a turning circle of 11.4 metres.

Australian compliant and wheelchair certified, the cabs feature purpose-built disability access, with an integrated fold-down wheelchair ramp, secure wheelchair retention system, and a swivel seat to aid passengers with limited mobility.
Other thoughtful features also include an intercom between the driver and passengers, a hearing loop system for those with impaired hearing, contrasting grab handles and seat edges for visually-impaired passengers, and rear seating for up to five passengers.
While the vehicles have odometer readings of between 50,000 and 150,000km, the taxis have been engineered to survive with hundreds of thousands – if not, millions – of kilometres on the clock, with a hardy interior and a heavy-duty steel chassis.

Along with 437 litres of luggage space (and an additional retention system), the vehicles feature DAB digital radio and MP3 capability, air conditioning, and a driver’s seat which has been ergonomically designed with an armrest and lumbar support for long shifts behind the wheel.
“We genuinely believe that this is the best-value disability transport option on the market right now,” the Eveen.au spokesperson told CarSauce.
Despite marketing companies wanting to purchase the vehicles for advertising purposes, the company said it wanted to offer the vehicles to those in need – “after all, people in wheelchairs deserve to have cool cars, too”.
The company is encouraging mobility-impaired individuals and families, disability transport providers, and aged-care services to email [email protected] to find out more.
