There's good news for those looking for a new Ford Ranger Ute, Ranger Raptor Ute, or Everest Family SUV.

In an exclusive conversation with CarSauce, Ford Australia's Communications Director, Matt Moran, shared insights on the improved availability and ongoing strong demand for these models. "We continue to experience strong demand across the lineup, and thanks to increased supply, have been able to reduce waitlists and increase on-ground stock across many Ranger and Everest variants," Moran explained.

The Ranger Wildtrak, Sport, and XLT variants are readily available, and the high-performance Ranger Raptor also shows improved availability in most locations nationally.

For those interested in specific models, Moran noted that some Ranger XL variants and the Ranger Platinum are available in more restricted numbers and may attract wait times.

The Everest lineup is also seeing good availability, especially models fitted with the 2.0-litre Bi-Turbo engine, like the Trend Bi-Turbo 4x4, Sport Bi-Turbo 4x2, and Ambiente Bi-Turbo 4x4. While there is some stock of Everest V6 variants at dealers, it is in lower numbers.

The Ford Ranger achieved significant milestones by becoming Australia's best-selling new vehicle in 2023, with 63,356 units sold, surpassing the Toyota HiLux which sold 61,111 units according to VFACTS.

In July 2024, the Ford Ranger was the second best-selling car overall, right behind the Toyota RAV4, with 4,915 units. The Ford Everest stood out as the highest selling ute-based SUV, moving 2,162 units in July, placing it seventh overall.

Adding to the excitement, Ford is introducing two special editions: the Ford Ranger Tremor and the Ford XL Black Edition. The Tremor builds on the Ranger Sport with features such as 17-inch black alloy wheels, 265/70 R17 General Grabber AT3 all-terrain tyres, and Bilstein dampers. These enhancements increase ground clearance by 24mm and widen the track by 30mm.

Other notable features include a black honeycomb-patterned front grille with LED driving lights, a steel bash plate, underbody protection, two front tow hooks, and a 'long-leg' tubular sports bar. Only 1,150 units of the Tremor will be available.

The 2024 Ford Ranger Black Edition is set to hit Australian showrooms by the end of September. This model is based on the Ranger XL and includes a dual-cab pick-up body, a 2.0-litre bi-turbo diesel engine, and four-wheel drive, with 1,500 units planned for the Australian market. Priced from $56,680 plus on-road costs, the Black Edition is equipped with 17-inch Asphalt Black alloy wheels, black side steps, and a unique Asphalt Black mesh front grille.

Ford has a history of launching special editions to keep interest alive in its models. The introduction of the Black Edition is particularly notable as it marks the first time this badge has been used for the Ranger in Australia.

These editions help rejuvenate interest in models, even though the latest Ford Ranger has only been on the market for two years and remains highly popular.
