Inchcape plans to reintroduce Foton's light-duty trucks and new-generation utes to the Australian market later this year, with the exact models yet to be confirmed. Currently, the Tunland G and Tunland V are available overseas, with the former featuring a 2.0-litre turbo-diesel engine producing 120kW and 390Nm.

The Tunland V comes in two sizes, with options for a mild-hybrid unit and a plug-in hybrid version, potentially competing with the BYD Shark and Ford Ranger PHEV. Both models offer significant towing capacity, with a claimed maximum of 3500kg.

In addition to utes, Inchcape plans to introduce Foton vans, including the CS2 and Toano, next year to compete against the Toyota HiAce and Hyundai Staria-Load. Inchcape will also handle the distribution of Foton’s internal combustion-engine light trucks, complementing their current lineup of electric trucks and buses sold by Foton Mobility Distribution.

Foton first entered the Australian market in 2012 with the Tunland ute, but after a series of recalls and changes in importers, sales ceased in 2017. Under Inchcape, Foton aims to expand its presence in Australia, focusing on delivering high-quality products and services.
