Hyundai Motor Company has released teaser images of its upcoming concept vehicle, the INSTEROID, described as a sporty, gaming-inspired electric vehicle (EV).

The INSTEROID concept is based on Hyundai's upcoming INSTER sub-compact EV, scheduled to launch in the second quarter of 2025.
The INSTER measures 3825mm in length, 1610mm in width, and 1575mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2580mm and cargo capacity ranging from 280 to 351 litres.

Hyundai will offer the INSTER with two electric drivetrain options: the Standard Range with a 42kWh NMC lithium-ion battery producing up to 71.1kW, and the Long Range equipped with a larger 49kWh battery generating up to 84.5kW. Both variants feature a single electric motor driving the front wheels, delivering a torque output of 147Nm.
Claimed driving range for the Standard Range model is up to 327km (WLTP), while the Long Range variant increases this figure to up to 370km. Both versions support a maximum AC charging rate of 11kW and a DC fast-charging rate of up to 85kW.

The INSTEROID concept expands on the INSTER’s design, featuring video game-inspired elements such as wheel arch air vents, 21-inch wheels, and a prominent rear spoiler with an aggressive diffuser. Hyundai’s distinctive Pixel LED lighting complements the vehicle’s futuristic appearance.
Inside, the INSTEROID continues its gaming theme, highlighting uniquely designed control buttons, a distinct instrument cluster, and stylised brakes.

Hyundai describes INSTEROID as a "thrilling glitch," combining digital aesthetics with real-world automotive engineering.
Hyundai Motor will officially unveil the INSTEROID concept in early April 2025.
