Hyundai Unveils 8th-Gen Sonata, Emphasizing Sportier Design and Advanced Technology

Hyundai Motor Company has revealed the design of the eighth-generation Sonata, a midsize sedan that showcases a sportier design and cutting-edge technology. Set to launch globally on March 30, the redesigned sport sedan will be available in standard and N Line variants.

The new Sonata, more than just a facelift of the 2019 model, features low-slung, elegant proportions, aggressive styling, and future-oriented technology. The exterior design is based on Hyundai's "Sensuous Sportiness" philosophy and incorporates a horizontal front-end layout with Hyundai's signature Seamless Horizon Lamp, hidden headlamps, a wide grille, and air intake, giving it a dynamic and aggressive appearance.

The vehicle's exterior emphasizes its sporty character with sharp, linear elements and clean, supple surfaces. The rear design features H-lights that underscore the high-tech image and wide stance of the Sonata. The interior design of the new Sonata focuses on driver-centricity, incorporating delicate high-tech details that support modern lifestyles.

For the first time in a Hyundai model, the Sonata features a panoramic curved display that combines 12.3-inch driver information clusters and a 12.3-inch AVN infotainment system. The touch-type climate control unit on the instrument panel further enhances the high-tech atmosphere.

The interior offers a variety of color combinations to simultaneously elevate sportiness and premium character. The "floating" theme in the cabin creates a futuristic mood, while the column-type shift-by-wire controller behind the steering wheel frees up space in the center console area. The large cup holder and tray add extra convenience.

The new Sonata will make its official debut at the Seoul Mobility Show, taking place from March 30 to April 9, 2023.

Should Chinese Cars Be Banned in Australia?

Banning Chinese cars in Australia makes no sense. With no local car industry to protect, tariffs would only hurt consumers and limit choice.
