Isuzu has unveiled the Traviz – a concept which could eventually be offered as a commercial van or mini-bus.
Shown at the Isuzu Truck Fest in Phillipines over the weekend, the concept is a traditional van body mated with the cabin of the Traviz – a small cab-chassis commercial truck currently made in Indonesia, where it’s known as the Traga.

Configured as a 12-seater bus, the Traviz features a high-roof body, along with the tail-lights and some design elements at the rear from the previous-generation Isuzu D-Max ute.
It’s believed the concept is powered by the same 2.5-litre turbo-diesel engine from the truck version, sending 58kW and 177Nm to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transmission.

It’s worth mentioning there’s already a panel van based on the Traga on sale in Indonesia, however the Blind Van (below) as it’s called uses a hinged door rather than a sliding cargo door, as is common on most commercial vans sold in Australia.
If the Traviz van did make it to the production stage, it’s unlikely the model would make it to Australia without seeing the same 3.0-litre turbo-diesel engine and transmission found either in the Isuzu D-Max ute or N-Series small truck.
