In August 2023, Isuzu UTE Australia (IUA) reported a delivery of 4,712 vehicles. This figure aligns with the increased supplies of the Isuzu D-MAX ute and MU-X SUV models, as IUA intensifies its efforts on reducing vehicle lead times.
Junta Matsui, Isuzu UTE Managing Director, voiced his appreciation, stating, "The company expresses sincere appreciation for the patience and ongoing support demonstrated by its customers throughout this period of delays. We guarantee our ongoing dedication to decreasing wait times."
From June through August, IUA has recorded monthly vehicle deliveries exceeding 5,000 units. This trend is anticipated to continue throughout the end of 2023 and into early 2024. The increase in vehicle deliveries correlates with a reduction in component supply shortages, IUA's adjustments in vehicle production, refined shipping processes, and solutions to address standard challenges.
A notable change in IUA's shipping process has been the inclusion of shipping containers, alongside the conventional RoRo (Roll-on, Roll-off) method, addressing some contamination concerns during the import and quarantine stages.
Despite the increase in vehicle deliveries, challenges in shipping and logistics persist. IUA is engaging with international suppliers, loading ports, and the Australian Border Force Department to enhance shipping efficiency further. By utilising varied shipping methods, including shipping containers and different terminal dispatching methods, IUA aims to improve shipping efficiency.
The year-to-date sales figures show 28,409 vehicles have been sold and delivered, an increase compared to the previous year.
The data indicates a trend towards the normalisation of production and vehicle supply for the Isuzu D-MAX ute and MU-X SUV.
