The durability of Tesla's Cybertruck was recently showcased in a unique experiment involving a crossbow, prompted by a conversation between Tesla CEO Elon Musk and popular podcast host Joe Rogan. Musk had previously touted the Cybertruck's robust build, claiming its stainless steel exoskeleton was bulletproof. Rogan challenged this assertion, proposing a crossbow test.

Below is a video from YouTube channel "JRE Daily Clips" which shows the snippet of the podcast where the pair agreed on a $1 USD bet and proceed tested the robustness of the Cybertruck:

On Joe Rogan's widely followed podcast, with a listenership of over 15.7 million subscribers on YouTube, Musk detailed the Cybertruck's resilience. He mentioned prior demonstrations that showcased the vehicle's ability to resist gunfire from multiple firearms without sustaining penetrative damage. During the show, Musk agreed to Rogan's suggestion to test the Cybertruck with an arrow, leading to a wager of one dollar.

The testing was promptly carried out during a break in the podcast, with Rogan employing a bow of considerable strength. The exact strength of Rogan's bow was not confirmed, although for context, certain states allow hunting with bows of up to 150 pounds draw weight. Shot at close range, the arrow left two noticeable dents in the Cybertruck's door, but did not perforate the metal, resulting in Musk winning the bet for a symbolic dollar.

When the podcast resumed, Rogan expressed his astonishment at the Cybertruck's tough design and questioned Musk on the necessity for such a feature. Musk explained the practicality of a durable vehicle, highlighting the difference between movie portrayals and reality when it comes to the bulletproof nature of car doors.

This event is reminiscent of the Cybertruck's initial reveal in 2019, when a demonstration intended to prove the vehicle's armored glass shattered during a live presentation, in contrast to the recent crossbow test.
