Kia Unveils EV9 SUV: A Three-Row Electric SUV Designed for Family Comfort and Sustainability

(SEOUL) March 15, 2023 – Kia Corporation has unveiled its first three-row electric flagship SUV, the Kia EV9, showcasing the exterior and interior design. This development marks a step in the company's shift towards sustainable mobility solutions.

The EV9's design is based on Kia’s ‘Opposites United’ philosophy, which merges aspects of nature and modernity. The vehicle's exterior incorporates sleek shapes and distinct geometry, resulting in a modern SUV appearance.

Karim Habib, Executive Vice President and Head of Kia Global Design Center, stated, "The Kia EV9 aims to offer customers a high-quality option and a new perspective in the family SUV sector, focusing on comfort and innovative use of space, technology, and design for all occupants."

The exterior design of the EV9 demonstrates a strong SUV presence while maintaining aerodynamic efficiency. The vehicle incorporates dynamic fender structures and geometric wheel arches, flush door handles, and a tapered back roofline.

The EV9's interior prioritizes space, comfort, and technology for all passengers. Constructed on Kia’s Electric Global Modular Platform (E-GMP), the vehicle features a long wheelbase, low beltline, and flat electric vehicle architecture, allowing for a spacious cabin with three rows of seats.

Kia considered feedback from families in designing the EV9's seating configurations and features to provide equal space, comfort, and experience for all occupants. The interior offers reclining seats in the first and second rows, swiveling second-row seats, and cup holders and charging points in the third row.

The panoramic dashboard contains two 12.3-inch touch screens and one 5-inch segment display, streamlining control of the vehicle’s functions. The center console includes multiple storage options for added convenience.

The EV9 is scheduled for its digital global premiere in late March, during which Kia will disclose product information and initiate the global campaign under the slogan, ‘Here to reshape the way we move.’
