MG Motor has officially announced the U9, its first dual-cab ute for the Australian market. The model was unveiled today at the Melbourne Motor Show on April 4, 2025.

The MG U9 features a 2.5-litre turbo-diesel four-cylinder engine producing 164kW. It will be arriving as a dual-cab and MG say that it is "made specifically for local conditions."
This release marks MG’s entry into the Australian ute segment, the second-largest vehicle category in the country. The U9 will also be marketed under the LDV brand as the Terron 9.

Peter Ciao, MG Motor Australia CEO, said, "The U9 isn’t just a new model – it’s a turning point for us. If we want to be a top-three brand in this country, we need a ute that punches above its weight – and the U9 does exactly that."
The U9 will be available through MG’s national dealer network. It will be supported by the company’s 10-year/250,000km warranty.

The vehicle is expected to arrive in Australian dealerships in late 2025. Pre-orders will open in the second half of 2025.
The MG U9 will be on public display at the Melbourne Motor Show from April 4, 2025.
