Updated Range Rover Velar Revealed

Jaguar Land Rover has unveiled its latest addition to the Range Rover family, the New Range Rover Velar. The mid-size luxury SUV promises to deliver a modern luxury experience with a clean, reductive design and advanced technology features.

The exterior of the Range Rover Velar features a new grille, Pixel LED headlights, and dark accents to enhance its sophisticated appearance. The design is further complemented by a powerful overhang, pronounced kick and a new lower rear bumper that features hidden tailpipes.

Inside the Range Rover Velar, passengers are treated to an elegant and reductive cabin that showcases outstanding craftsmanship and new materials. The centerpiece of the cabin is the latest evolution of the Pivi Pro infotainment system, which features a single floating 11.4-inch curved glass interface that is ergonomically positioned to reduce reflections and minimize distractions. Clients have the option of a leather-free cabin, with a range of new seat designs and materials that combine wool from Danish textile experts Kvadrat with Ultrafabrics polyurethane textile inserts.

The Range Rover Velar is equipped with a range of technologies that promote passenger comfort and wellbeing. The SUV promises to be the quietest in its class for road noise, thanks to refinement technologies including the Active Road Noise Cancellation system. The Velar is also available as a plug-in electric hybrid that delivers a pure-electric driving range of up to 69km and features mild hybrid technology.

In terms of connectivity, the Range Rover Velar features the next-generation Pivi Pro infotainment system, which provides immediate and intuitive control of all key vehicle functions. Drivers are presented with a Pre-Drive mode that offers a simplified interface for quick and easy navigation to the most frequently used features.

Prof Gerry McGovern, Chief Creative Officer of Jaguar Land Rover, said that the New Range Rover Velar is a flawless example of the company's modernist design philosophy and embodies effortless sophistication with a bold elegance and dramatic presence. The New Range Rover Velar will be available in three different models: Velar Dynamic SE, Dynamic HSE and Autobiography.

The Range Rover Velar offers a range of powertrain options including electric hybrid, petrol, and diesel engines. The P400e electric hybrid features a 2.0-liter four-cylinder petrol engine and an eight-speed automatic transmission, producing 297kW of power and 640Nm of torque. The petrol options include the P250, with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine and 184kW of power, and the P400, a 3.0-liter six-cylinder engine producing 294kW of power. All models feature all-wheel drive and the Adaptive Dynamics system for optimized suspension stiffness and handling. Should Chinese Cars Be Banned in Australia?

Banning Chinese cars in Australia makes no sense. With no local car industry to protect, tariffs would only hurt consumers and limit choice.
