Volvo Australia Introduces Limited Black Editions of XC60 SUV and S60 Sedan

Volvo Car Australia has introduced Black Edition versions of its XC60 SUV and S60 sedan, exclusive to the Ultimate T8 Plug-in Hybrid models.

These special editions, limited in production, are distinguished by their Onyx Black exterior, including the grille and vehicle badging, positioning them within Volvo's high-end and performance-focused offerings.

The exterior of the Black Editions features enhancements such as black window trim and gloss black alloy wheels, measuring 21 inches on the XC60 and 19 inches on the S60, respectively.

The vehicles' interiors adhere to a black color scheme, featuring seats that are a mix of Nappa leather, leatherette, and textile, accented with metal mesh aluminium decorations and a crystal gear shift knob crafted by Orrefors.

They also include a 12.3-inch digital display integrated with Google services.

Among the included amenities are a panoramic sunroof, a Bowers and Wilkins audio system, heated seating and steering wheel, a display for head-up graphics, and the XC60's air suspension system equipped with Four-C Active Chassis, along with a suite of driver support technologies.

The Black Edition models utilize a plug-in hybrid drivetrain that combines a turbocharged four-cylinder engine with an electric motor, designed to offer a compromise between driving performance and efficiency.

Stephen Connor, the Managing Director of Volvo Car Australia, notes that the Black Editions highlight the company's commitment to Scandinavian design principles, marked by their unique appearance.

These limited-edition models are slated to go on sale in early April 2024. The asking price for the S60 Black Edition is set at $88,990, and the XC60 Black Edition is listed at $103,990.
