Jaecoo Australia has confirmed local pricing and specifications for the 2026 Jaecoo J8 SHS, its first seven-seat SUV in this market.

The J8 SHS will sit at the top of the J8 range in a single Summit variant, priced from $59,990 MSRP.

It arrives as Omoda Jaecoo continues to expand its Australian line-up, following models such as the smaller Jaecoo J5 petrol SUV.

Australian dealership arrivals are scheduled for this month.

"Our customers have been asking for a 7-seat SUV and we’re more than happy to meet their demands with the compelling J8 SHS," said Roy Munoz, Chief Commercial Officer, Omoda Jaecoo Australia.

"With a striking design, luxurious interior and advanced hybrid technology, the J8 SHS ticks all the right boxes for not just families, but a wide variety of Aussie buyers."

The J8 SHS uses Jaecoo’s Super Hybrid System, combining a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine with three electric motors.

The petrol engine produces 105kW and 215Nm, while the front electric motors produce 75kW and 170Nm, and 90kW and 220Nm respectively.

A rear electric motor adds 175kW and 310Nm, with the full system rated at 315kW and 580Nm combined.

All-wheel drive is delivered via the rear electric motor, while drive to the front wheels is handled through a three-speed Dedicated Hybrid Transmission.

Jaecoo claims a total driving range of more than 1000km and an electric-only range of up to 169km on the NEDC cycle.

The plug-in hybrid battery has a 34kWh capacity and can accept DC fast charging at up to 70kW.

Towing capacity is rated at 750kg for an unbraked trailer and 1600kg for a braked trailer.

Connectivity features include wired and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 50W wireless phone charger and Jaecoo’s voice command system.

The Summit also gets a 14-speaker Sony sound system with two speakers in the driver’s seat headrest, a built-in fragrance system, a panoramic sunroof with powered sunshade, second-row window shades and a power tailgate.

Luggage capacity is rated at 200 litres with all three rows in use, increasing to 738 litres with the third row folded.
