Mazda Australia has updated the MX-5 for 2027, adding a new green paint option and extra safety technology across the two-seat sports car range.

The 2027 Mazda MX-5 is available to order through Mazda dealerships now, with prices ranging from $44,590 to $61,740 before on-road costs.

The headline exterior change is Zinc Green Metallic, a new body colour offered on MX-5 Roadster and RF variants.

Mazda says the colour is inspired by zinc chromate primer, an undercoat used to improve durability in industrial products.

The existing colour palette continues with Snowflake White Pearl Mica, Soul Red Crystal Metallic, Deep Crystal Blue Mica, Jet Black Mica, Machine Grey Metallic and Aero Grey Metallic.

Safety equipment has also been updated, with Autonomous Emergency Braking now capable of detecting cyclists as well as pedestrians.

Lane-keep Assist System has been added to the MX-5 range.

The GT RS gains lightweight Recaro bucket seats trimmed in nappa leather and genuine Alcantara with light grey stitching.

GT RS variants also add genuine Alcantara trim for the instrument panel, centre console, console lid and door trim.

Mazda Australia Sales and Marketing Director Jarrod Gieschen said: "Green has been in high demand from our customers, and we’re excited to re-introduce it.
This is the first time in 10 years that a green body colour has been available on a Mazda in Australia.
It’s a fitting addition to the rest of the compelling updates for our globally revered sports car."

The update follows the broader changes introduced with the 2024 MX-5, which brought major updates to Mazda’s long-running sports car.
