2026 Renault Symbioz Hybrid Price and Specs: Small SUV Starts From $36,990
Renault Australia has confirmed 2026 Symbioz Hybrid pricing from $36,990 before on-road costs, with mild and full hybrid variants due in July.
Renault Australia has confirmed pricing and specifications for the 2026 Renault Symbioz, with the new small SUV starting from $36,990 before on-road costs.
The Symbioz will arrive with three variants, split between one mild hybrid and two full hybrid grades.
Order books are scheduled to open ahead of Australian showroom deliveries from July 2026.
The new nameplate follows Renault's earlier confirmation of the Symbioz for Australia, and forms part of the brand's broader local model rollout.
At launch, the range will open with the Techno Mild Hybrid, followed by the Techno Full Hybrid at $42,990 before on-road costs and the Esprit Alpine Full Hybrid at $45,990 before on-road costs.
The Symbioz is the first full hybrid model Renault Australia has offered locally.
Full hybrid versions use a 1.8-litre four-cylinder petrol engine producing 80kW and 170Nm, paired with a 36kW and 205Nm electric motor and a 1.4kWh lithium-ion battery.
Renault lists combined outputs for the full hybrid system at 116kW and 265Nm, with claimed WLTP fuel consumption of 4.7L/100km and CO2 emissions of 107g/km.
Renault says the full hybrid Symbioz can offer up to 1000km of driving range under WLTP testing.
The full hybrid system prioritises electric drive during initial acceleration up to about 60km/h, and can recover energy under braking, coasting and deceleration.
It uses Renault's multi-mode hybrid transmission, combining two electric motor gears with a four-speed automatic transmission for the petrol engine.
The entry Techno Mild Hybrid uses a turbocharged 1.3-litre four-cylinder petrol engine producing 104kW and 245Nm, matched with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
The mild hybrid version has a claimed combined fuel consumption figure of 6.4L/100km and CO2 emissions of 144g/km.
All Symbioz variants are front-wheel drive and require 95 RON premium unleaded petrol.
Although positioned as a small SUV, the Symbioz measures 4412mm long, 1797mm wide and 1567mm tall, with a 2639mm wheelbase.
Cargo space differs by powertrain, with the Techno Mild Hybrid offering 563 litres of boot space in its standard rear-seat position and up to 1668 litres with the rear seats stowed.
Full hybrid variants offer 460 litres in their standard rear-seat position and up to 1546 litres with the rear seats stowed.
Across the range, the rear bench can slide forward by 16cm to prioritise either luggage space or rear leg room.
Standard safety equipment on Techno grades includes six airbags, lane keeping assistance, lane change warning, blind spot warning, rear cross-traffic alert, forward and reverse autonomous emergency braking, adaptive cruise control and a rear-view camera.
The Techno also includes front, rear and side parking sensors, traffic sign recognition, door exit warning, tyre pressure monitoring and a driver attention monitor using a windscreen-pillar camera.
Inside, the base specification includes a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, 10.4-inch infotainment touchscreen, Google built-in services, wired and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless phone charging and Arkamys six-speaker audio.
The Esprit Alpine Full Hybrid adds a 360-degree camera, hands-free parking, powered hands-free tailgate, heated front seats, electrically adjustable front seats, Harman Kardon nine-speaker audio and 19-inch alloy wheels.
A panoramic Solarbay sunroof is available across all three variants for $2000, using an embedded PDLC film that can be darkened on demand.
Renault Australia General Manager Glen Sealey said the Symbioz gives local buyers a choice of hybrid options in a competitive part of the market.
"This is the first time Renault has offered a full hybrid vehicle in Australia," said Sealey.
"This means Symbioz is able to deliver genuine fuel savings at a time when there is significant pressure on petrol prices."
The Symbioz is covered by a five-year, unlimited-kilometre vehicle warranty, while the 1.4kWh battery in full hybrid variants is covered for eight years or 160,000km.
Service intervals are listed at 12 months or 30,000km, whichever comes first.
