Polestar has updated the Polestar 4 in Australia for the 2027 model year, with the electric SUV now adopting the Polestar 4 Coupé name.

The MY27 Polestar 4 Coupé is available to order now, with Australian arrivals anticipated from July or August 2026.

Pricing starts from $78,500 before on-road costs for the Rear motor, matching the MY26 Long range Single motor.

The Dual motor is now priced from $86,350 before on-road costs, down $2000 compared with the MY26 Long range Dual motor.

The updated naming comes after a wagon-bodied Polestar 4 was spied overseas with a conventional rear window, unlike the Coupé.

That model remains unconfirmed for Australia, although the new Coupé name could suggest Polestar is preparing to distinguish between Coupé and Wagon body styles locally and globally.

For MY27, both Rear motor and Dual motor versions receive recalibrated chassis hardware.

The changes include high-capacity passive dampers, revised spring and anti-roll bar settings, and polyurethane rebound stops replacing internal rebound coil springs.

Polestar also says steering precision has been improved.

Dual motor variants remain the quickest SUV in the Polestar line-up, with a claimed 0-100km/h time of 3.8 seconds.

Polestar says the 4 Coupé has the lowest carbon footprint of any current Polestar, with Australian-bound Rear motor cars rated at 19.4 tCO₂e and Dual motor cars rated at 20.3 tCO₂e on a cradle-to-gate basis.

The Dual motor figure has fallen by 1.1 tCO₂e for Australia since launch.

The trim structure has also been revised to Rear motor, Dual motor, and Dual motor with Performance pack.

Visual differentiation includes black seatbelt and rotary control details on Rear motor, black with a Swedish gold stripe on Dual motor, and full Swedish gold details on Dual motor cars fitted with the Performance pack.

The update follows recent changes to the larger Polestar 3 electric SUV, though the Polestar 4 remains positioned as the brand’s fastest SUV.

Polestar 4 recorded 202 Australian deliveries in May 2026, up 51.9 per cent on May 2025, and 701 deliveries year-to-date.

It competes in the electric SUV market with vehicles including the 2026 Tesla Model Y, 2026 Kia EV6 and 2026 Hyundai Ioniq 5.

A new Comfort pack has been added for MY27, allowing buyers to add selected comfort features without choosing the full Plus pack.

The Plus pack is now priced at $6500, down $1500 compared with MY26, although 22kW AC charging has moved from the Plus pack to a standalone $900 option.
The former $2500 Pro pack has been removed.
