First customer deliveries are targeted for the first half of 2027.

The 07L will be the first AVATR vehicle available to Australian customers, with Changan Group leading the brand's local introduction.

The launch will add another entrant to Australia's electric-vehicle market, a rapidly expanding segment CarSauce has been tracking through recent sales coverage.

What we know so far

The AVATR 07L is described as a luxury all-electric SUV, with global specifications including an 800V silicon-carbide electric architecture and CATL battery technology.

Rapid charging capability, a large-format digital display environment and a Meridian audio system also form part of the global 07L specification.

Australian powertrain, battery, charging, range and performance details will be announced ahead of launch.

Australian equipment levels and vehicle functionality will also be finalised in line with local specification, certification and regulatory requirements.

The 07L will use AVATR OS, the brand's connected vehicle operating system, with the local version to be tailored for Australian customers, digital services and market requirements.

Bryan Guan, General Manager, Changan Group Australia, said AVATR was created around the idea that future luxury should be both intelligent and emotional.

"Australia is an important market for AVATR," said Guan.

"Australian customers are sophisticated, discerning and increasingly open to brands that challenge traditional automotive conventions."

"They expect design, technology, performance and experience to come together without compromise."

AVATR was established in 2018 and has a global design studio in Munich, Germany.

The brand's design direction is led by Nader Faghizadeh, whose team has shaped AVATR's design language since the AVATR 11 debuted in 2022.

Further Australian details for the AVATR 07L are due ahead of its local reveal and the opening of pre-orders.
