Ford Australia will introduce a seven-year unlimited-kilometre warranty for eligible new and demonstrator vehicles delivered from 1 September 2026, in one of the brand's clearest recent moves to build buyer confidence locally.

The new warranty will not apply retrospectively to vehicles purchased or delivered before 1 September 2026.

Ford says the seven-year term applies to all customers and all nameplates, including retail and commercial buyers, subject to eligibility requirements and servicing conditions.

The key condition is servicing: to qualify for the seven-year warranty, all services must be completed through the Ford dealer network and within the required servicing intervals.

If services are not completed at Ford dealers or are late, the warranty reverts back to the current five-year, unlimited kilometer warranty.

Greg Davidson, Director, Ford Customer Service Division, said the longer warranty was intended to reassure Australian Ford owners.

"For vehicles delivered from the 1st of September, 2026, Ford is bringing in a seven-year unlimited kilometre warranty for customers in Australia when they service at Ford," Davidson said.

"All customers, all nameplates, a strong statement to our customers that we have their backs now for even longer."

"This is about deepening trust and loyalty with our customers and it gives Ford owners real confidence, not just in the vehicle they've bought, but in the brand they've bought into."

The seven-year warranty gives Ford Australia a stronger ownership proposition as it works to improve brand perception and broaden its local line-up.

That timing is important as Ford prepares to expand beyond its existing core of Ranger, Everest, Mustang and Transit, including future Chinese-sourced Ford imports for Australia like the recently announced Bronco and Transit City.

For buyers weighing up a new Ford, the warranty is designed to reduce concerns around long-term ownership, especially as more new or significantly updated models join the local range over the coming years.

The move also gives Ford a longer headline warranty term than Toyota Australia's standard five-year unlimited-kilometre warranty, although Ford's seven-year coverage is conditional on servicing through Ford dealers.

Ford says its Australian dealer network includes 180 dealers and more than 220 service outlets nationwide.

That network will be central to the new warranty because customers who service outside Ford will not meet the stated condition for seven-year coverage.

Warranty exclusions and conditions apply, and Ford says the cover does not limit rights under Australian Consumer Law consumer guarantees.

For customers considering a Ford delivered from 1 September 2026, the practical benefit will depend on whether the vehicle is eligible and whether they are prepared to keep servicing within the Ford dealer network for the full warranty period.
