MG has detailed the MGU9 EV ute for Australia, with 430km WLTP range, 3.5-tonne braked towing, 325kW dual-motor AWD and V2L.
MG Motor Australia has revealed key specifications for the MGU9 EV, an all-electric lifestyle ute with dual-motor all-wheel drive and a claimed 430km WLTP driving range.
Australia will be the first market globally to launch the MGU9 EV, which MG says has been designed and tested for Australia.
The MGU9 EV combines a 102.2kWh LFP battery with two electric motors producing 325kW and 700Nm.
MG claims a 0-100km/h time of 5.8 seconds.
Braked towing capacity is rated at 3,500kg, while unbraked towing capacity is 750kg.
Payload is listed at 685kg.
The tub can accommodate a standard pallet, while a 236-litre front storage area adds extra luggage capacity.
The ute also includes 6.6kW vehicle-to-load capability through the external CCS2 outlet and three additional 2.2kW outlets inside the cabin.
The MGU9 EV adds another electric body style to the local market, where CarSauce has been tracking EV sales data across the new-car sector.
Dimitri Andreatidis, Marketing Director at MG Motor Australia, said, “The MGU9 EV brings together the capability and utility people expect from a ute with the comfort and benefits of an electric powertrain.”
“It’s designed to be used every day, whether that’s for work during the week, the school run or getting away on the weekend.”
Meng Chen, Head of Product at MG Motor Australia, said, “With 430km of range, 3.5-tonne towing, 325kW of power and V2L capability, the MGU9 EV is designed to handle everyday driving as well as weekends away.”
The MGU9 EV supports 11kW AC charging and DC charging at up to 115kW.
A 20-80 per cent DC charge takes approximately 42 minutes.
Inside, the ute features dual 12.3-inch screens, leather front seats, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, 15W wireless phone charging and an eight-speaker JBL sound system.
The driver’s seat is heated, ventilated and includes massage functionality, while the front passenger seat and steering wheel are also heated.
