Zeekr has confirmed the upcoming release of the 8X, with a new regulatory filing revealing the model's technical specifications.

The data submitted to the Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) outlines the key metrics for the large plug-in hybrid SUV.

The vehicle measures 5,100mm in length, 1,998mm in width, and 1,780mm in height. It sits on a 3,069mm wheelbase.

The filing lists both five-seat and six-seat interior configurations.

Gross vehicle mass ranges between 3,250kg and 3,370kg, depending on the powertrain specified.

The powertrain combines a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine producing 202kW with an electric hybrid system.

While the engine provides the base, the total system power output is rated at a staggering 1,030kW (1,381hp). The vehicle is built on the manufacturer's SEA-R platform.

The internal combustion engine is paired with two battery sizes depending on spec; 55kWh or 70kWh.

These packs are identified as 'Freevoy' Nickel Manganese Cobalt (NMC) units sourced from CATL.

While these battery capacities are comparable to those found in many full battery electric vehicles (BEVs), the 8X retains a petrol engine for hybrid operation.

The system supports external charging and allows for pure electric driving.

The 8X utilises a 900V electrical architecture capable of ultra-fast DC charging speeds of up to 500kW.

It also features Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) functionality at 6kW AC and Vehicle-to-Vehicle (V2V) charging at 60kW DC.

The combined driving range is rated between 982km and 1,049km on the WLTP testing cycle. Electric-only range is listed between 256km and 328km (WLTP).

The 8X is expected to slot into the local lineup above the mid-size Zeekr 7X, which launched recently with pricing between $57,900 and $72,900.

With its larger dimensions and plug-in hybrid powertrain, the 8X will likely command a price premium over the 7X.

This positioning places it below the flagship Zeekr 9X, filling the gap between the brand's mid-size offerings and its upper-luxury tier.

Chassis and running gear specifications have also been detailed in the documents.

The 8X has a rated top speed of 220km/h. The braked towing capacity is listed at 2,000kg, with dedicated towing equipment available as an option.

Wheel options include 20-inch, 21-inch, and 22-inch alloys. Track widths are recorded as 1,732mm at the front and 1,745mm at the rear.

The filing also lists various equipment and exterior trim options. Optional features include different designs for the mirrors, door handles, and window frames.

The front grille, bumper trims, and rear badging can also vary between specifications.

Technological equipment listed includes a streaming media rear-view mirror camera and an Electronic Toll Collection (ETC) unit.

Standard safety equipment includes a Bosch ABS system and an Event Data Recorder (EDR).

Local pricing and specific launch timing for the Australian market have not yet been confirmed.
