Fiat has introduced a new addition to its vehicle lineup, the Grande Panda, which features both hybrid and electric powertrains.
This model joins the existing Panda range but does not replace the current petrol-powered version, which will continue production until at least 2026.
The Grande Panda is part of Fiat's plan to release a new vehicle each year until 2027.
It utilises the Stellantis Smart Car platform, which is also used by the electric Citroen e-C3, indicating a shared foundation with other vehicles in the Stellantis lineup.
The Grande Panda's availability has been confirmed for regions including Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, with a starting price in Europe estimated at €23,300 (approximately A$37,823).
There is no confirmation yet regarding its release in the Australian market.
The vehicle is characterised by a larger, more SUV-like design compared to the standard Panda and features design nods to the 1980s model, such as the prominent 'PANDA' lettering on the doors.
It includes 17-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels and pixelated X-shaped lights that draw inspiration from the Lingotto factory in Turin.
With a length of 3.99 meters, the Grande Panda is designed to comfortably accommodate five passengers, slightly below the segment average for similar models.
Expected to share specifications with the Citroen e-C3, the Grande Panda will likely have an 83kW electric motor, a 44kWh battery, and a driving range of about 320km under the WLTP standard.
