Isuzu Ute Australia has introduced two special-edition 2024 Isuzu D-MAX dual-cab 4x4 utes: the LS-U Tour Mate and the LS-U+ Tour Mate. These models come equipped with over $9000 worth of commonly chosen accessories and are priced at $69,990 and $73,990 drive-away, respectively.

These Tour Mate editions include a tow bar kit, 12-pin wiring harness, electric brake controller, Clearview extendable heated and power-folding towing mirrors, a canopy with dual lift-up windows, and slimline weather shields. Both models maintain the standard 18-inch alloy wheels and highway terrain tyres with no changes to their core specifications.

Standard features in both variants include dual-zone climate control, keyless entry and start, an eight-speaker sound system, a 9.0-inch infotainment system with smartphone mirroring, a 7.0-inch driver's display, automatic LED headlights, and adaptive cruise control. The LS-U+ adds leather upholstery, a power-adjustable driver’s seat, and heated front seats.

The additional accessories increase the kerb weight by 85kg, slightly reducing the payload to 910kg for the LS-U Tour Mate and 905kg for the LS-U+ version. Both models retain the 3.0-litre four-cylinder turbo-diesel engine, producing 140kW and 450Nm, paired with a six-speed Aisin automatic transmission, and a selectable 4x4 system with low-range gearing and a rear differential lock.

The Tour Mate package is reintroduced after being last offered in 2019. Isuzu Ute Australia aims to enhance value by simplifying the accessory selection process, providing a cost-effective package driven by customer preferences. The package saves buyers over $6100 compared to individually adding these accessories.

Isuzu plans to expand its D-MAX lineup with the upcoming Walkinshaw-engineered 'Blade' tough truck, targeting competitors like the Nissan Navara PRO-4X Warrior and Toyota HiLux GR Sport.
