Mazda Australia has announced a series of updates to its third best-selling vehicle, the CX-30, introducing improved connectivity, a new model grade, and enhanced fuel efficiency. The new GT SP grade, available in both FWD and AWD, features exterior styling enhancements such as black alloy wheels, a black front grill, and piano black mirror caps, offering a sleek and sporty appearance.
Inside, the GT SP grade boasts heated front seats and steering wheel, elegant burgundy leather upholstery, and a glass sunroof with a powered tilt and slide function. The grade also introduces wireless phone charging, alongside wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, integrated into the 10.25-inch Mazda Connect infotainment screen. Connectivity enhancements are now standard for Touring and Astina grades, with the Vision Technology Pack available as an optional extra across all variants, excluding Astina where it comes as standard.
The Vision Technology Pack for GT SP includes a 360-degree View Monitor, Driver Monitoring, Front Cross Traffic Alert, and Cruising & Traffic Support. For the other grades, the pack adds the 10.25-inch Mazda Connect screen and front parking sensors. The G20 models have been upgraded with a new 2.0-litre Skyactiv G engine, producing 114 kW and 200 Nm, achieving fuel efficiency of 6.3 liters per 100km and CO2 emissions of 147g/km.
The G25 2.5-litre Skyactiv G engine remains unchanged, offering 139 kW of power and 252 Nm, with AWD available in GT SP and Astina specifications. All models continue to use the 6-speed Skyactiv-Drive automatic transmission. In terms of aesthetics, two new paint colors, Ceramic Metallic and Zircon Sand Metallic, have been introduced, while Astina models will now feature black leather upholstery instead of white.
All new Mazda CX-30 models will also benefit from updated Skyactiv-G servicing intervals of 12 months or 15,000km, whichever comes first.
Vinesh Bhindi, Managing Director of Mazda Australia, commented that the latest updates make the Mazda CX-30 more appealing in terms of connectivity, new model grade, and efficiency gains.
