CarSauce has unearthed several trademark applications from Mazda, as the company prepares for a future with a line-up of electric vehicles.
The Japanese brand has submitted trademark filings for the Mazda 2e, Mazda 3e, Mazda CX-5e, and Maxda CX-6e – providing a strong hint at its forthcoming product line-up.

The trademarks follow the release of the Mazda 6e earlier in the year in Europe, with the electric sedan also sold in China as the EZ-6.
While the Mazda 6e was “developed for the European market,” a spokesperson for the brand told CarSauce in January 2025 the model was “under study for overseas markets” – which may include Australia.

The Mazda 6e is powered by a single electric motor sending 180kW and 320Nm to the rear wheels, with a driving range of approximately 479 kilometres for the base 68.8kWh battery.

January also saw the company axe the Mazda 6 from its Australian range after almost half a century on sale locally.
Despite a strong SUV line-up, the latest trademark applications suggest Mazda hasn’t given up on small cars, with electric versions of the Mazda 2 and Mazda 3 now a strong possibility.
