55,738 Mazda BT-50 Utes Recalled due to Engine Control Module defect

55,738 Mazda BT-50 Utes Recalled due to Engine Control Module defect

Mazda Australia has issued a recall for the Mazda BT-50 (TF) models produced between 2020 and 2024. The recall affects 55,738 units of the 3.0-litre variants.

The recall is due to a manufacturing defect in the Engine Control Module (ECM), which may cause the fuel pump control valve to remain open. This defect can result in an interruption of the fuel supply, leading to the engine stalling and a subsequent loss of power.

A loss of power while driving increases the risk of an accident, potentially leading to serious injury or death for vehicle occupants and other road users. Mazda Australia is contacting all affected customers to arrange a free update to the ECM calibration at their preferred Mazda dealer.

For additional information, consumers are advised to contact the Mazda Call Centre at 1800 034 411.
