Mercedes-AMG has announced the addition of six special edition models to its G 63 lineup, themed around natural elements: Water, Desert, Gravel, Forest, Snow, and Tarmac.
These 'Elements Edition' models feature unique design modifications tailored to each theme and will be available in Australia starting June 19, 2024.
They are priced at $387,661, which is an increase of $24,000 over the standard G 63 model.
The Elements Editions of the G 63 come with various exterior and interior enhancements, such as 22-inch matte-black forged wheels, special puddle lights that project 'G Stronger Than Time', and AMG Night Package trim elements.
The interiors are equipped with cherry wood elements in the luggage compartment, diamond-stitched perforated Nappa leather on seats, door panels, and armrests, along with a Burmester audio system.
The cars also include a new AMG performance steering wheel, rubber boot mat, a performance package that increases the top speed to 240 km/h, and a carbon-fibre engine cover.
The colour schemes for each edition are specific: Water edition features vintage blue paint with yacht blue and black leather interiors, Desert comes in Kalahari gold with titanium grey pearl and black leather, Gravel is in classic grey with platinum white and black leather, Forest appears in deep green with espresso brown and black leather, Snow is painted in opalite white magno with platinum white and black leather, and Tarmac is in night black magno with Bengal red and black leather.
The engine specifications for these models remain unchanged, maintaining the 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine output of 430kW and 850Nm.
In a related announcement, Mercedes-AMG has introduced a new set of G63 Elements Edition packages that include unique colour combinations and additional equipment upgrades. These are set to be available for an additional $28,000 over the base model's price.
This announcement comes as the current model G-Class nears the end of its production cycle, with a heavily updated version of the G-Class, including a new G63 AMG model, expected to arrive in the last quarter of 2024.
These Elements Edition packages are part of Mercedes-AMG's strategy to diversify the G-Class offerings ahead of the upcoming model updates.
They feature enhancements such as AMG five-spoke forged alloy wheels, AMG Night Package I and II black finishes, and AMG carbon-fibre exterior highlights.
The interiors of these editions also include special features like perforated Nappa leather seats with diamond stitching and chrome detailing for window switches and air vents.
