New Hybrid Variant of Honda HR-V Anticipated in Australia

A new, lower-priced hybrid model of the Honda HR-V is expected to be available in Australia later this year.

This model aims to offer a more budget-friendly option in the HR-V lineup and will feature an updated design.

The upcoming e:HEV X variant will be positioned between the existing Vi X model and the premium e:HEV L.

Details about the official launch and availability from Honda Australia remain unconfirmed, but the vehicle is expected to be part of the facelifted series announced earlier and anticipated in showrooms by the end of 2024.

Current pricing for the HR-V models is on a run-out basis, with the Vi X listed at $34,900 and the e:HEV L at $43,900.

These prices mark a decrease from their previous amounts.

There is speculation about a potential price increase for the new lineup, which could reflect additional features or improved specifications.

From January to April 2024, HR-V sales have shown an increase, indicating a growing market interest.

The hybrid model currently combines a 1.5-liter petrol engine with two electric motors, delivering a total of 96kW of power and achieving a fuel consumption rate of 4.3 liters per 100 kilometers.

The updated model in Japan reportedly improves on these figures by 2%.

Updates to the HR-V include cosmetic changes such as a revised grille and new LED tail-lights, along with a reconfigured interior that offers larger storage capacities.

The model also incorporates new safety technologies, including traffic-jam assist and adaptive high beam headlights.
