Toyota Australia Resumes GR Yaris Orders and Implements New Allocation Policy

Toyota Australia has announced that it is now accepting orders again for its GR Yaris and other GR performance models, including the GR Corolla, GR86, and GR Supra.

The company is introducing a "first in, first out" policy for delivering these vehicles, set to begin with production in July.

Sean Hanley, Vice President of Sales, Marketing & Franchise Operations at Toyota Australia, explained that the change in policy is due to the current availability of these models.

The new system is designed to allocate vehicles based on the order date.

The decision to adopt this method is aimed at improving the efficiency of the delivery process for the in-demand GR series, according to Mr. Hanley.

The GR Yaris, which is the first all-Toyota sports car in more than 20 years, will be available once again for enthusiasts.

Since its debut in late 2020, the GR Yaris has seen a total of 2,591 units sold, including 1,001 GR Yaris Rallye editions.

Other models in the GR line have also recorded sales: the GR Supra, launched in 2019, has sold 1,171 units; the GR86, which was introduced in September 2022, has sold 1,609 units; and the GR Corolla has 813 deliveries since its release last year.

Additionally, Toyota has expanded the GR brand to include GR Sport models with various enhancements, such as a more powerful hybrid system for the C-HR, and dynamic and visual upgrades for the Yaris Cross, along with new versions of the LandCruiser and HiLux.
