Toyota has confirmed it is working on a production electric dual-cab ute, with the model to be one of six electric models launched by the Japanese car giant in Europe by 2026.
Half of the vehicles remain under wraps, but will join an updated bZ4X mid-size SUV, the recently-unveiled Urban Cruiser small SUV, and the new C-HR+ – another small electric SUV with slightly larger dimensions than the current petrol-powered C-HR.

Alongside the mystery ute, Toyota showed the silhouettes of two additional electric SUVs, which share some minor similarities with the LandCruiser Se (below) and FT-3e concepts shown at the 2023 Tokyo motor show.
Curiously, the outline of the dual-cab ute does not appear to share its shape with the EPU (top) – an electric ute concept unveiled with the LandCruiser Se and FT-3e.

So far, of the vehicles shown in Europe, the facelifted bZ4X is the only model to be confirmed for an Australian launch.
The 2026 Toyota bZ4X (below) is said to land in local showrooms in the fourth quarter of 2025, with the model receiving a larger and more efficient 74.7kWh battery – up from the current 71.4kWh battery – expected to increase range by as much as 140 kilometres.

The bZ4X is also set to receive an extra 15kW for the single-motor version, while the dual-motor, all-wheel-drive variant will receive a significant 92kW performance boost – slashing 1.8 seconds off its claimed 0-100km/h sprint time, to just 5.1 seconds.
Along with exterior updates, much of the interior has been redesigned, with dual smartphone charging pads, more modern integrated air vents, and a bigger infotainment screen – growing from 12.3 inches to 14 inches.

Little is known about the electric ute or presumed LandCruiser Se models, other than they have been confirmed for a European launch by the end of next year.
However, given Australia’s love of utes and LandCruisers, there’s a good chance both are being strongly considered for a local launch.
