Production of the 2025 Toyota HiLux is set to end next month, as the Japanese car giant prepares for the next-generation ute.
Toyota will begin retooling its Thai factory for the new 2026 Toyota HiLux, with the four-to-six-month process beginning from May 2025, according to a source with inside knowledge.

It’s believed the current-generation HiLux will continue to be delivered to Australian customers up until July 2025.
The new-generation HiLux is expected to be unveiled to the public in late 2025, with deliveries to begin locally in 2026.

While the next-gen ute is expected to be a significant reworking of the current model – which first launched in 2015 – CarSauce understands the 2026 HiLux will see the introduction of diesel emissions fluid, better known as AdBlue.

The addition of AdBlue is a believed to be a direct response to the introduction of the New Vehicle Efficiency Standards (NVES) by the Australian Government.
Toyota Australia declined to confirm or deny the information obtained by CarSauce, instead issuing the following written statement: “Toyota Australia is always looking at opportunities to update our product offerings for customers, but we have nothing to announce today.”
