The all-new 2026 GWM Haval H7 will go on sale in Australia in mid-October 2026, with the boxy mid-size SUV set to start from under $50,000 driveaway.

GWM Australia has confirmed the new H7 following its debut at Everything Electric in Sydney, adding another SUV to its local Haval line-up.

The H7 will sit alongside the Haval H6, H6GT and soon-to-be-released Jolion Max, giving GWM a broader spread of medium SUV options in Australia.

Unlike many smoother-styled mid-size SUVs, the H7 uses upright proportions, strong body lines and more rugged exterior cues.

GWM is positioning it as a more characterful family SUV, while still targeting the space and practicality expected in the segment.

Hybrid and plug-in hybrid powertrains

Two electrified powertrains will be available from launch, with buyers able to choose between hybrid and plug-in hybrid variants.

Both will use GWM’s Hi4 technology, combining electrification with intelligent all-wheel-drive capability.

Full Australian specification, detailed powertrain outputs, model grades and final pricing will be announced in the coming weeks.

The H7 will add another electrified model to GWM’s local range, following other Hi4-equipped models such as the Cannon Hi4-T plug-in hybrid ute.

Steve Maciver, Head of Marketing & Communications, GWM Australia & New Zealand, said the H7 would bring a different look to the mid-size SUV segment.

“The all-new Haval H7 is an exciting addition to our Australian line-up and brings something genuinely different to the mid-size SUV segment,” Maciver said.

“Its bold, boxy styling gives it a strong identity, while a starting price of under $50,000 ensures it remains accessible to Australian families looking for a distinctive and highly capable SUV.”

“We see a real opportunity for the H7 in Australia.
As well as being loaded with the latest technology, including Hi4, it broadens the appeal of the Haval range and gives customers another reason to consider GWM.”

The Haval H7 becomes another step in GWM’s stated Drive to Top 5 strategy, as the brand continues expanding across SUVs, utes and electrified powertrains.

Its sub-$50,000 driveaway starting point will place it below a key psychological price barrier for family SUV buyers, though final grade-by-grade pricing has not yet been detailed.

More information on Australian variants, equipment levels and powertrain specifications is due before the Haval H7 reaches showrooms in October.
