MG Motor Australia has cut the entry point to the MG4 EV Urban to $29,990 drive-away through a national cashback offer running this month.

The $29,990 drive-away price applies to the MG4 EV Urban Essence 43 after a $2000 cashback is deducted at the point of sale.

The higher-capacity MG4 EV Urban Essence 54 is priced from $32,990 drive-away with the same cashback applied.

The offer is available through participating MG dealers across Australia until 30 September 2026.

Customers who order an MG4 EV Urban at Everything Electric Sydney between 18 and 20 September 2026 will also receive a $500 charging card.

The offer gives MG a sub-$30,000 drive-away electric hatchback during a period of sharp competition at the lower end of the EV market, where CarSauce has also covered the Geely EX2 from $26,490 before on-road costs.

Everything Electric Sydney will be held at Sydney Showground, with more than 100 electric vehicles on display and more than 40,000 visitors expected.

Organisers have described the event’s test-drive program as the largest EV test-drive program in the Southern Hemisphere.

MG Motor Australia will display the MG U9 EV, MG4 EV Urban, MGS6 EV, MGS5 EV, HS Super Hybrid+ and Cyberster at the event.

The display will also include MG’s electric SUV range, following the recent local launch of the MGS6 EV from $49,990 drive-away.

The MG4 EV Urban, MGS5 EV, MGS6 EV, HS Super Hybrid+, MG3 Essence Hybrid and MG ZS Essence Hybrid are listed for the event’s test-drive program.

IM Motors Australia will also be present with the IM5 sedan, IM6 SUV and LS9.

IM5 and IM6 customers who place a $1000 deposit at Everything Electric Sydney can access $5000 in total cashback, made up of an existing $3000 cashback offer and an additional $2000 event cashback incentive.

The IM5 and IM6 are also listed for the event’s test-drive program.

The MG4 EV Urban cashback applies to eligible new and selected demonstrator vehicles sold from 11 to 30 September 2026, while stocks last.
