Chery Motor Australia has detailed MY27 updates for the Chery E5 electric SUV, led by a larger infotainment screen, revised front-seat equipment and new exterior hardware.

The updated E5 will be shown publicly for the first time at Everything Electric at Sydney Olympic Park from 18 to 20 September 2026.

The electric SUV uses a single electric motor producing 155kW and 288Nm, with driving range listed at up to 430km on the WLTP cycle.

What changes for MY27?

For MY27, the driver’s seat adds four-way lumbar support, massage and ventilation.

The front passenger seat changes from four-way to six-way power adjustment and also gains ventilation.

Cabin technology now centres on a 15.6-inch infotainment display, up from 12.3 inches.

An automatic-dimming interior rear-view mirror has also been added.

Outside, the E5 gains an electrically operated charging-port cover and an active grille shutter.

Other listed equipment includes synthetic leather seats, heated front seats, dual-zone automatic air conditioning, Intelligent Voice Command with “Hello Chery”, a premium steering wheel and advanced driver-assistance systems.

Chery Motor Australia will announce updated pricing and availability closer to the vehicle’s arrival in dealerships.

The MY27 update gives the E5 a broader equipment list in the electric SUV market, with pricing still to come.
