The 2024 Citroen C5 X Plug-in Hybrid has been released in Australia, available solely through direct orders and not found in traditional showrooms.

This model is priced at $73,990 before on-road costs, marking a $16,000 increase from the non-hybrid version.

Citroen's decision to utilise a direct-order sales model aims to streamline the distribution process, with expected delivery timelines extending to the last quarter of the year.

This sales approach is similar to those used for other plug-in hybrids from Peugeot, including the 308 and 3008 models.

The Citroen C5 X Plug-in Hybrid features a 1.6-litre turbo-petrol engine coupled with an 81kW electric motor, generating a combined output of 165kW and 360Nm of torque.

The drivetrain includes an eight-speed automatic transmission that powers the front wheels. The vehicle uses a 12.4kWh lithium-ion battery, claiming an electric-only driving range of up to 60km and a fuel efficiency of 6L/100km according to the WLTP standards.

Charging capabilities include a standard Mode 2 cable and compatibility with a 7.4kW single-phase 32A wallbox charger, which can fully charge the battery in approximately four hours.

The vehicle is equipped with a 12-inch infotainment display, wireless connectivity for smartphones, and a panoramic sunroof.

It also features Citroen’s Advanced Comfort suspension system and offers four driving modes: Electric, Hybrid, Comfort, and Sport.

The Citroen C5 X Plug-in Hybrid includes a five-year/unlimited kilometre warranty, alongside five years of roadside assistance and a five-year Service Price Promise program.
