2025 GWM Cannon Ute Price and Specs

The 2025 GWM Cannon has officially landed, priced from $40,490 drive-away – and complete with a new name.

Previously known as the Ute, GWM has changed the name to the Cannon – adopting the variant badge found on the outgoing model, while also dropping its two-wheel-drive and cab-chassis variants from the range.

Accompanying the new name is a more powerful 2.4-litre turbo-diesel four-cylinder engine – borrowed from the larger Cannon Alpha – along with a new nine-speed auto.

Towing capacity has also increased to 3500kg (braked), up from 3200kg.

The company has also updated the Cannon’s ute, with a 7.0-inch digital instrument display and a 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Prices are now $1000 more expensive than previous equivalent models, however the cost of entry into a GWM Cannon is now much more – given the previous 4x2 and cab-chassis models have been dropped.
