MG Motors Announces the Launch of MG5 Sports Sedan in Australia

MG Motors has officially announced the launch of its new vehicle, the MG5, entering the Australian sports sedan market. The new MG5 sedan will be available in two main variants, the Vibe and the Essence, each catering to different customer preferences.

The Vibe variant comes with a starting driveaway price of $24,990 AUD and features a 1.5L naturally aspirated 4-cylinder engine. In contrast, the Essence variant is priced at $28,990 AUD and boasts a more powerful 1.5L turbocharged engine. Six exterior colour options are provided, offering a range of choices to prospective buyers.

MG Motors positions the MG5 as a car blending design, affordability, and driving quality, boasting a low stance and a 'shark nose' fastback design. The company also emphasizes the vehicle's fuel economy, with the Vibe offering 5.7 litres per 100 kilometres and the Essence delivering 5.9 litres per 100 kilometres.

Inside the MG5, MG Motors has made efforts to create an atmosphere of luxury, including synthetic leather seats, a 10” multi-function colour touchscreen system and compatibility with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Additional features exclusive to the Essence variant include a 360° parking camera, synthetic leather-trimmed steering wheel, and a sunroof.

The MG5 also comes with a competitive boot capacity of 401 litres when all five seats are in use. The car is sold with a standard 7-year, unlimited kilometre fully-transferable warranty, which is an attractive offer for customers in this segment.

MG Motors has grown to become a significant player in the Australian market, with more than 85 dealerships across the country. This latest addition to their lineup, the MG5, demonstrates the company's ongoing commitment to delivering affordable vehicles without compromising on design and technology.

Future customers and observers will be eager to see how the MG5 performs in the competitive sports sedan market, and whether it will reinforce MG's growing presence in Australia. Further details and customer responses are anticipated in the coming weeks as the MG5 becomes available for purchase.
