Skoda has introduced the new Kamiq Run-Out to its compact SUV lineup, with a starting price of $31,790 RRP. This new model joins the range alongside the 85TSI Style, and the 110TSI Monte Carlo and Signature variants, offering a more accessible price point for customers.
The Kamiq Run-Out retains most features from the Style variant but at a $5,000 lower price. It includes a comprehensive feature list and Skoda's European-best ownership package, which comprises a seven-year, unlimited kilometre warranty and a seven-year capped price servicing offer.
This new model includes several features often found in mid-to-high specifications of competitor brands. These features encompass LED lighting, keyless entry and start, an 8" Bolero infotainment system with smartphone integration, and various 'Simply Clever' features like a driver's door umbrella holder and luggage compartment shopping hooks.
Safety is a key focus, with the Kamiq Run-Out offering seven airbags, a rear-view camera, parking sensors, a tyre pressure monitoring system, and various driver assistance systems including Front assist with pedestrian detection, Lane assist and more. It will also come equipped with 17-inch alloy wheels.
Comparatively, the Style variant adds features like Adaptive Cruise Control, an alarm system, different roof rails, a power tailgate, a larger Virtual Cockpit, and more, including optional extras like a panoramic glass roof. Both models are powered by an 85TSI 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine, paired with a 7-speed Direct Shift Gearbox, boasting a fuel efficiency of 5.6 litres per 100 kilometres.
Kieran Merrigan, Skoda Australia's head of marketing and product, emphasized the Kamiq Run-Out's value, feature-rich offering, and ownership benefits. He highlighted Skoda's focus on customer preferences for more efficient and feature-rich vehicles, in contrast to competitors' offerings.
The Kamiq Run-Out is available until Q2 2024, with optional extras including special paint colours and a comprehensive service pack. Merrigan also hinted at Skoda's future plans to expand model grades while maintaining brand consistency.
