BMW Australia has confirmed pricing and specifications for the all-new eighth-generation BMW 3 Series, which will arrive locally from Q1 2027 with combustion and fully electric powertrains in the same model family.

The local range will open with the BMW 320 from $83,900 before on-road costs, while the fully electric BMW i3 40 xDrive will start from $96,900 before on-road costs.

The launch line-up also includes the BMW M350 xDrive at $128,900 and the BMW i3 50 xDrive at $112,900, both before on-road costs.

It marks the first time Australian buyers will be offered combustion-powered and fully electric variants within the same generation of the BMW 3 Series family.

BMW says the new 3 Series succeeds its best-selling model in Australia, with more than 185,000 local deliveries since 1991 and more than 18 million sold globally since the first-generation model arrived in 1975.

The new 3 Series joins the previously announced BMW i3 in the brand's Neue Klasse sedan family, following earlier updates to the 3 Series range.

The BMW 320 and BMW M350 xDrive continue with combustion powertrains, while the BMW i3 40 xDrive and BMW i3 50 xDrive use sixth-generation BMW eDrive technology.

The BMW M350 xDrive uses a six-cylinder petrol engine with 48-volt mild-hybrid technology, producing 326kW and 580Nm.

BMW lists a 0-100km/h time of 4.1 seconds for the M350 xDrive and a top speed of 250km/h.

The BMW i3 40 xDrive produces 275kW and 520Nm, with a 0-100km/h time of 5.4 seconds and a WLTP driving range of up to 710 kilometres.

The BMW i3 50 xDrive lifts outputs to 345kW and 645Nm, with a 0-100km/h time of 4.7 seconds and a WLTP range of up to 912 kilometres.

Both i3 variants use an 800-volt electrical architecture and support DC charging at up to 400kW.

Inside, the new 3 Series family introduces BMW Panoramic iDrive, BMW Operating System X, BMW Panoramic Vision, a BMW 3D Head-Up Display and a central display with QuickSelect functionality.

BMW Symbiotic Drive is listed across the new family, while the Heart of Joy vehicle dynamics control system applies to the electric BMW i3 variants.

2027 BMW 3 Series Pricing

All prices are recommended retail pricing including GST and LCT, but excluding on-road costs.

Alpine White is a no-cost paint option across the range, while most metallic finishes are listed at $2000.

For the electric i3 variants, Ocean Wave Blue metallic is priced at $4000 and Frozen Space Silver metallic is priced at $6000.

The BMW 320 can be optioned with M Sport Pro for $4200 or a Comfort Package for $3500, while M Sport Pro is also listed at $4200 for the BMW i3 variants.
