MG Motor Australia has confirmed local pricing for the 2027 MG MGU9 EV, with the all-electric ute priced at $78,990 before on-road costs.

The MGU9 EV is due to arrive in Australia from Q4 2026 onwards, with Australia the first global market for MG's electric lifestyle ute.

The pricing confirmation follows MG's earlier release of the MGU9 EV's core range and towing figures, led by a 430km WLTP driving range and 3500kg braked towing capacity.

Power comes from a 102.2kWh LFP battery and dual electric motors, producing 325kW and 700Nm.

MG lists a 0 to 100km/h time of 5.8 seconds.

Charging capability includes 11kW AC charging and DC charging at up to 115kW, with a 20 to 80 per cent DC charging time of approximately 42 minutes.

The MGU9 EV is all-wheel drive and uses four-wheel Electronic Air Suspension.

Practicality figures include a 685kg payload, 750kg unbraked towing capacity and a 236-litre front storage compartment.

Vehicle-to-load capability is rated at 6.6kW externally and 2.2kW internally.

Inside, the MGU9 EV includes leather front seats, dual 12.3-inch displays, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, 15W wireless phone charging and an eight-speaker JBL sound system.

The driver's seat also features heating, ventilation and massage functions.

Dimitri Andreatidis, Marketing Director at MG Motor Australia, said the MGU9 EV brings ute space and flexibility together with electric powertrain technology.

"We also know the Australian ute market is an important one, and customers are increasingly looking at different powertrain options," Andreatidis said.

"A full-electric ute offers another choice and, importantly, allows Australians to make the move to electric without giving up the versatility they value in a ute."

The MGU9 EV carries a five-star ANCAP safety rating.

It is backed by MG's nationwide dealer network and a seven-year warranty when serviced within the MG dealer network.
