Lepas has revealed the Aura concept wagon, the young brand’s first concept vehicle and a preview of its future design direction.

The concept centres on a new front-end treatment, with a clean fascia that can incorporate light signatures, animations and personalised graphic styles.

Ivan Dulanovic, Chief Designer of Lepas, said the Aura is shaped around the brand’s “Natural Energy” design philosophy and what he called “Leopard Aesthetics”.

The reveal builds on the brand activity already underway around the Lepas L6 EV, though Aura has been presented as a design concept rather than a model with pricing or technical specifications.

New face for future Lepas models

Dulanovic described the front-end design as “the new face of Lepas” and “the look that will inspire all future models”.

The design merges the earlier rounded grille and side air intakes into a single large, cleaner surface.

Dulanovic said the new face is intended to allow different technologies behind it, from internal-combustion powertrains to fully electric propulsion.

The front panel can also support different light signatures, animations and mood-based expressions, with Dulanovic framing personalisation as a key part of the concept.

At the rear, the Aura uses a screen within an elliptical form, designed to allow customisable rear lighting graphics.

The brake light across the rear screen also uses animations.

The side profile is defined by emphasised shoulder lines, a long wheelbase, short overhangs and a wide stance.

Dulanovic linked those proportions to the posture and movement of a leopard, saying the design is intended to express elegance, confidence and mystery.

The concept also continues Lepas’ use of a glossy porcelain-style finish, applied to emphasise contrast across the car’s surfaces.

The daytime running light signature is described as a recurring brand element, with Dulanovic saying it will carry through future generations of Lepas cars.

Aerodynamics also form part of the design story, with air channels intended to guide airflow through and over the body.

Three colour themes were outlined for the Aura concept.

Dawn Pearl is inspired by morning light in Tahiti and is described as representing “warm elegance”.

Bacalar Blue takes inspiration from Bacalar Lagoon in Mexico, with blue and turquoise tones used to represent “fresh elegance”.

Provence Twilight is inspired by sunset in southern France, using deeper blue-purple tones to express “mysterious elegance”.

Dulanovic said the concept is “not the end” and will act as inspiration for future Lepas design, including the new face, porcelain finish, light signatures and colour direction.
